If there’s anything you could go back and tell yourself before starting out in this industry, what would it be?
If I could go back in time I’d tell myself to not be afraid to try new things. I never thought I could just sit and chat for hours without playing a game or doing something for “content”. People are there for YOU, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. Your energy and personality is what will keep people around.
What are some recommendations you have for people that want to grow their Twitch channel?
My recommendation for people who want to start streaming is to bring something to the platform that doesn’t already exist. What do YOU have that is different than others? Why would someone click YOUR stream over the millions of other people streaming?
Think about the skills and interests you have that are unique whether it’s knitting or a weird interest in birds. You can find your niche within Twitch if you look more specifically at what would make you stand out.”
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?
Outside of streaming I actually love being outside! I love camping and going for nature walks. The internet can be overwhelming so it’s important to go explore and turn your phone off. It tends to recharge me and gets me excited for my next stream instead of falling into burnout.
What is something your viewers may be surprised to learn about you?
My viewers would be surprised to learn I used to be a teacher! I taught an arts enrichment program for middle schoolers. It’s funny because in a way now I feel like a crude chaotic teacher and my viewers are my wacky misbehaving students from around the world.
What has been the most memorable moment of your streaming career so far?
I think the most memorable moment of my streaming career has been meeting my best friend in real life. She started as a toxic viewer I had to message to behave in my discord, to becoming a mod, to becoming my best friend. We’ve grown so much as people over the years and getting to meet her in person really showed me the cool things that can come from streaming.
Since you graduated with a Bachelor’s in Cinema and Television Arts, are you still interested in doing something in the TV world? What was your dream job was heading into college?
I am absolutely still interested in working in the television world. In college, my dream was to write and direct a crude comedy cartoon show. A big dream of mine is to direct someday but I also love writing. Voice acting is also something I’d love to try. The great part of streaming is the things I’d love to do seem more possible with the positive attention I’ve received. After graduating college I sent out hundreds of applications to merely work on set as a production assistant and even that was impossible to get. Now I have so much support in my creativity because of streaming that maybe these things may come true someday.
