Though one camera may be plenty for live streaming games or just chatting. However, from time to time, you may have content planned that requires the setup of a secondary camera. Whether you’re doing a cooking tutorial and want to keep your audience engaged or simply want to step away from your streaming setup to get some fresh air without leaving your audience hanging, having a secondary camera can surely benefit you.
Historically, the bad news was getting a secondary camera set up was difficult and required additional software. The good news is that the new Collab Cam feature on Streamlabs Desktop makes adding additional camera angles a simple process that you can complete in just a few clicks. Keep reading to learn more.
How to Setup Your Secondary Camera on Your iPad or iPhone with Collab Cam
If you’re already familiar with Streamlabs Desktop to help control and customize your live stream (thank you for being a part of the family), then you know that we pride ourselves on making user-friendly tools to help you elevate your stream. Collab Cam is no exception. Below is how you can use this fantastic feature to set up your mobile iOS device as a secondary camera to enhance your content.
- Launch Streamlabs Desktop and confirm that your preferred streaming platform is connected and logged in.
- Check your sources to ensure your primary camera and microphone are good to go.
- Next, click the plus sign (+) from your Sources panel and select Collab Cam to add it as a source.
- Once Collab Cam is added to your Source Panel, select Collab Cam. If it’s your first time using Collab Cam, you’ll come across a welcome page with brief instructions on getting started.
- Next, you’ll be presented with a pop-up with a shareable link that you can open in any browser from a different device. In this case, that device would be your iPhone or iPad. Share the link to the device you’d like to use as a secondary camera. On iOS, you can share via AirDrop, iMessage, email, etc. Choose the method that works best for you.
- Open the link from your iPhone or iPad (technically, any mobile device will work) and choose the camera you want to share.
- Back in Streamlabs Desktop, review the video feed, and choose to show your mobile camera on your screen.
- That’s it! You can begin streaming using both your primary and secondary cameras.
